Note that some of the teams have been excluded from this list because they are very lowly ranked in 2024 (i.e. probably not taking it seriously this year). I have arbitrarily chosen the rank cut-off at 30K by having a look at some teams and noticing that some have just been unlucky around that range rather than not actively playing.
There could be better ways of approaching this (e.g. check who made trades in each round but this is what I have done for now).
When people look at the ownership percentages for AFL fantasy, they often wonder why the most selected players are all below 70%. The reason for this is that a lot of teams are either missing players or are entirely empty. Fortunately there is a solution to this, I have devised the following formula to calculate a playerβs true selected number:

This is a rough approximation but it led to the most selected player (Harley Reid) being close to 100% at the beginning of the pre-season.
UPDATE: Auto-picks
The selection numbers in the formulae above have also been adjusted further to remove auto-picks post 16th of March 2024. The number of auto-picks are an estimate but appear to improve the previous results which didnβt make much sense.
